2026 Shaq X Arik Football Camp
NFL athletes Shaq Thompson and Arik Armstead hosted youth ages 8–17 for a free football camp at California State University, Sacramento focused on sports, wellness, and future goal-setting. Participants engaged in football skills and drills, toured the Sacramento State campus, and took part in a financial literacy workshop presented in partnership with New York Life.
Rooted in the Armstead Academic Project’s “Stay Hungry” philosophy, the event encouraged youth to build confidence, explore future pathways, and prioritize both physical and mental well-being through a day of learning, mentorship, and community connection.

“This is Alex’s second year going to the camp and he loves it! He aspires to attend and play for Sac State, so he takes the camp very seriously. Meeting and interacting with Arik inspires him. He has attended a hand full of camps with NFL players and Ariks camp is his favorite, because he gets to do what he loves and He will be there next year as well! ”
